What does all-inclusive include?cabin accommodation full board the Open Bar: upon boarding, and throughout the duration of the cruise, a wide selection of drinks (mineral water, cold drinks, wines, beer, Charles Heidsieck champagne, spirits, coffee, tea) is served at your discretion and at any time of the day. Certain premium alcoholic drinks presented on the menu are not included in the Open Bar free Wi-Fi internet access 24 hours a day* the activities offered during expedition cruises (see “Expedition cruises” section) access to all common areas * The connection may be slowed down, and possibly cut, depending on certain geographic areas or in circumstances beyond our control.

Are flights included in the cruise price?For certain cruises, we privatize planes and transfers to facilitate your arrival and departure. We therefore offer air packages offering the following advantages: direct flights, luggage transported on a single flight to guarantee delivery on arrival, ship departure postponed in the event of a flight delay & personalized service on board. Some flights are included in the price indicated. The cruises concerned can be identified by the words "return flights included", "outward domestic flight included", or "return domestic flight included". Are port taxes included in the cruise price?Yes, port taxes are included in the price of your cruise.

Do reservations with PONANT include visa support?In most cases, you will have to take care of obtaining visas and the necessary formalities for visiting certain countries. For bookings made by French, Belgian and Swiss nationals, we indicate which type of visa is required for your trip. When certain visas are issued and billed directly on board, the information is indicated on our website, in the cruise description (Formalities tab).

Are excursions included in the cruise price?The excursions offered are generally not included in the price of your cruise. Zodiac outings and disembarkations are included on Expedition cruises.

Are all “Kosher” meals included in the cruise price?Breakfasts, lunches and dinners served on board are included in the cruise price, from dinner on the first day to breakfast on the last day. From the moment you board and throughout the cruise, drinks are served at your discretion and at any time of the day. The Open Bar is available from a wide selection of drinks (mineral water, cold drinks, kosher wines, beer, kosher champagne, spirits, coffee, tea). Some premium alcoholic drinks presented on the menu are not included in the Open Bar. All meals are fresh and prepared the same day by the chefs of the Ponant company . Meals are Glatt Kosher.

Are spa services included in the cruise price?Access to the hammam (on Sisterships only), the spa, the fitness room, the snow cabin (only on Le Commandant Charcot) is free, except on Le Ponant which does not benefit from it. You can discover all of our paid services (scrubs, facial and body treatments, hair care, hairstyles, etc.) on our spa menu here.

Are the prices shown per person or per cabin?The rates displayed on our site are per person , based on double occupancy. A single supplement automatically applies for people wishing to travel alone.

Are tipping obligatory?Staff gratuities are part of the customs on board cruise ships and are left to your discretion. An anonymous envelope is placed in your cabin at the end of the cruise. You can then drop it off at reception in a box provided for this purpose. Strictly for information purposes, the average gratuities left by our passengers is €10 to €12 per day and per passenger.

How do I pay for my cruise online?When booking an LKC cruise on our website, you can make your payment by credit card : Visa, Mastercard, Carte Bleue, E-Carte Bleue or American Express. You can also choose between paying a deposit , or paying the entire balance of your file. Online payments are obviously completely secure since we use the SSL protocol encryption system which protects your information during the transaction.

What is a waiting list and how can I join it?If the cruise you wish to book is full, you have the option of joining a waiting list . This list allows you to be informed as soon as the cruise is available for sale again.

Where does my ship depart from?On the day you embark on your cruise, your ship leaves the port mentioned on the first day of the itinerary. A few weeks before your departure, you receive your travel diary with all the information necessary for the smooth running of your cruise, including a reminder of your itinerary and the name of the embarkation port.

How do I get to the departure point of my cruise?You can travel to the departure point of your cruise on your own, or use our services. Your return flights , your transfers between the airport and the port upon boarding and disembarkation or even your pre and post cruise programs: LUXURY KOSHER CRUISE supports you in the entire design of your trip .

What time can I board on the first day of my cruise?The boarding time is indicated on the first day of your cruise itinerary. A few weeks before your departure, you will receive your travel diary containing all the information necessary for the smooth running of your cruise and in particular confirming your boarding time. Generally speaking, you will be welcomed on board from 4 p.m. local time.

What documents are required for boarding?All passengers must be in possession of a valid identity document and the necessary visas , depending on their nationality and the countries visited. Details of the documents to be provided can be found in the Formalities section of your cruise description. When you arrive on board, you will be asked for the identity document used to complete the Information Sheet. It will be kept until the end of the cruise to be presented by the ship's officers to the customs authorities of each port. If you need a stopover, it remains at your disposal at reception where you must return it as soon as you return on board.

How does the disembarkation take place?Information regarding disembarkation at the end of the cruise will be communicated to you in the logbook and at reception. We thank you for reading it carefully. Disembarkation generally takes place in the morning, after breakfast service.

Can I board if I am pregnant?Yes up to 3 months of pregnancy on the cruise end date, but not for expedition cruises for safety reasons in the event of early complications, which are difficult to manage in an isolated environment.

What is the procedure for arriving at the port?When arriving at a port, customs and immigration authorities board the ship. As soon as the checks are carried out, passengers and crew can go ashore. Due to lack of infrastructure in certain ports, the ship may be forced to anchor offshore. In this case, disembarkation is done by local boats or by local launches. Given the limited number of these boats, landings are done in groups. Please pay attention to the announcements made on board.

Are excursions offered to discover the destination?An offer of excursions is proposed to you according to the stopovers. Excursions may be modified or canceled without notice, for technical reasons, in the event of force majeure or when the minimum number of participants has not been reached. You will not be charged if the excursion in question was paid for, but you will not be able to claim any compensation if the canceled excursion was included in the price of your cruise.

Are excursions obligatory?Excursions are optional: you can therefore choose not to book them or organize them yourself. Nevertheless : you will not receive any reduction or compensation if you choose not to take the excursions included in the price of your cruise; only the excursions offered as part of the cruise guarantee you will be back on board on time.

What is the difficulty level of the excursions? Are they suitable for older people and beginners?We make sure to offer excursions accessible to as many people as possible. When certain excursions present a certain level of difficulty (long walk, rough trail, long journey, etc.) or when a minimum age is required, we specify this in the description. If you have any doubts about the feasibility of an outing, do not hesitate to contact one of our Travel Advisors

Do all excursions need to be pre-booked before my cruise departs?Yes, all excursions must be pre-booked, whether included or paid excursions.

When can I book my excursions?You will receive an email to inform you of the opening of pre-reservation. Registrations for excursions are available by pre-reservation at least 60 days before the start of your cruise, and up to 7 days before your embarkation from your Travel Advisor or by asking to be contacted again. Excursion capacity is limited , so requests are processed in order of receipt, subject to availability. Once your pre-reservation is registered, you will no longer need to visit the Excursions Desk once on board to confirm.

How is payment made for pre-booked paid optional excursions?Payment for these pre-reservations is made directly on board. The case of pre-sale excursions : for logistical reasons, certain excursions must be reserved and paid for before the start of your cruise (from your cruise reservation, until 30 or 60 days before its departure). After these deadlines and once on board, it will unfortunately no longer be possible to request to participate.

I have not pre-booked my excursions, can I register on board?If you have not made a pre-reservation before your cruise, you can book your excursions on board, during one of the daily openings of the Excursions Office (times available in your Logbook). You will then complete a registration form . This form will remain filed in the Office and will be completed in the event of an additional reservation. The amount of these excursions will be directly added to your On-board Account. However, some excursions have a limited number of places and a registration deadline after which you will no longer be able to book or modify your excursions. Requests are therefore processed in order of receipt, subject to availability. We therefore strongly advise you to pre-book your excursions in advance.

Once on board, how are the excursions organized?The day before your excursion, you will receive, in your cabin, a ticket stating the name of the selected excursion as well as the location and time of your meeting for departure. On the day of the excursion, please bring this ticket which will be collected from you at the start of the excursion. In order to participate in excursions with your family or friends, please notify the Excursions Office of the cabin numbers concerned at the start of your cruise.

How can I access my cabin?One (or more) “key card” per cabin will be distributed to you. On all ships you simply close your door and it is locked. So, be sure not to forget your “key card” inside when you leave your cabin.

Is my cabin equipped with air conditioning?Each of the cabins is equipped with adjustable air conditioning. Your Cabinier will be at your disposal if you need help to obtain the desired temperature.

Is my cabin equipped with a safe?An individual safe is located in each cabin, where you can store your valuables. For high value items, we advise you to use the main safe, and to contact the ship's reception for this.

What equipment is available to me in my cabin?Upon arrival in your cabin, PONANT provides you with a bathrobe, slippers, towels and DYPTIC toiletries and care products, in large eco-responsible containers.

Are there interconnecting cabins? What is the difference between a Prestige cabin and a Prestige suite?On board our Sisterships ( Le Boréal, L'Austral, Le Soléal and Le Lyrial ) as well as the PONANT EXPLORERS, there is a door between the Prestige cabins which allows them to be joined together to transform them into Prestige suites. On the plans of our ships (available at the end of the brochure as well as on our website in the “Our ships” tab), all Prestige cabins crossed by an arrow can be transformed into Prestige suites . For safety reasons when the vessel is at sea, the door is locked in the open or closed position and cannot be manipulated by passengers. If two Prestige cabins have been booked in a suite configuration, the connecting door will be open and cannot be closed. Can I benefit from in-cabin service?On board each of our ships, you can enjoy Glatt kosher room service at any time of the day or night. A butler service is also available to passengers: On Sisterships : for passengers staying in one of the suites on deck 6. On PONANT EXPLORERS : for passengers staying in one of the Privilege suites, Grand Deluxe suites and the Shipowner's suite. On Le Commandant Charcot : for passengers staying in the Armateur suite, the Duplex suites, the Privilege suites and the Grand Prestige suites.

What are the leisure activities on board?In addition to the entertainment program and cultural and scientific conferences, you will find on board our fleet a choice of books and board games . On the Sisterships, the library area is also equipped with computers with Wi-Fi module. On the lower deck, an image and photography area is set up to view and order photos from your cruise. The cabins of all our ships are equipped with a television with a free offer of films and documentaries.

Can I practice a sporting activity on board?In order to maintain your physical fitness, you will be offered, following the program, a group session of gentle gymnastics on the bridges, in the swimming pool or in the theater. All our ships have a fitness room. On board the Commandant Charcot , in addition to the group sessions open to all, personalized private lessons are offered by the fitness and well-being coach (lessons not included, priority given to passengers in the Owner's, Duplex, Prestige and Grand suites). Prestige then subject to availability).

Are activities organized on board?During the day, conferences can be organized. Every evening, a varied and entertaining program of cultural and fun activities will be offered to you.

What are the relaxation areas on board?For your greatest comfort, PONANT provides you with various relaxation areas on board: On our other ships, you can enjoy lounges, a spa with massage cabins and a sauna (PONANT Explorers and Le Commandant Charcot ) or a hammam (on the Sisterships and Le Paul Gauguin ), a hair salon, a fitness room, a swimming pool, a theater and a boutique. On Le Commandant Charcot , you can also enjoy an indoor swimming pool, a snow cabin, the Blue Lagoon, a Brasier and a Cigar Lounge.

Can I make an appointment at the spa before my departure?We advise all our passengers to book their spa services after settling in on board. It is not possible to make a reservation before your departure.

Is the pool water heated?Our ships (excluding Ponant ) provide you with an outdoor swimming pool . The water is heated and sea water.

Is there a dress code on board ships?We advise you to wear casual and elegant outfits at your convenience, cocktail attire for ladies and wearing a jacket and tie for gala evenings, and white or black and white attire for the Officers' evening. Shorts and Bermuda shorts are not allowed in the evening in gourmet restaurants.

What clothing(s) should you take for an expedition cruise?For an expedition cruise, bring practical clothing and comfortable shoes . During your polar cruises, a fleece parka in your size will be offered to you and boots in your size will be loaned to you.

What technical accessories are recommended?We recommend that you bring a ski mask, sunglasses, walking poles (available for purchase in store), a waterproof backpack, binoculars, a technical watch, a face mosquito net (Arctic) and a waterproof pouch.

How do meals take place?Breakfast can be taken as a buffet, or in the cabin on your request . For early risers, a continental breakfast option is available in the Grand Salon bar. The latter is also available for late risers until 10 a.m. (times adapted to on-board activities). Lunch takes place in the restaurants in the form of a buffet. However, a card is offered to you with other options. In the evening, a formal à la carte dinner is offered at the gourmet restaurant. However, a buffet is available at the Grill for passengers wishing to dine more informally. A room service card is at your disposal 24/7. all our meals are Glatt Kosher.

Can I enjoy a snack outside of meal times?Yes, outside restaurant opening hours, coffee, tea and small pastries will be offered to you in the morning. In the afternoon, tea time is planned in the main lounge. Instructions will be given to you in the logbook placed each evening in your cabin.

What menu will be offered to me on board?You can enjoy our gourmet Glatt Kosher cuisine, prepared by the chefs PONANT and their brigade share with our passengers their passion for French culinary heritage , enriched with the products and traditions of the countries visited, all of the requirements: - Halav Israel - Pat Israel - Bichoul Israel. Thus, our menus are constantly renewed depending on the destination and itinerary chosen. On our yachts, two restaurants welcome you according to your desires, the gourmet restaurant and the grill restaurant . The availability of certain specific products such as butter and cheese, foie gras or even Pierre Hermé macaroons cannot be guaranteed on end of season departures to Antarctica (from the end of January/beginning of February). Furthermore, products coming directly from France are prohibited in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, as well as in South East Asia (Indonesia, Philippines). The supply of French products in these areas therefore depends on local supply possibilities. In Australia and New Zealand, the fish menu offers John Dory, sole, tuna, salmon and red mullet.

What languages are spoken on board?The crew is bilingual : French and English. The signage is in French and English. On some cruises, crew members also speak other languages.

Can I bring one or more children on board?Children under 1 year old are not allowed to board. On classic cruises, children are accepted from one year of age, with a maximum of 5 children aged between 1 and 6 years old on board. On “expedition” cruises, children are accepted from the age of 6 (excluding cruises aboard Le Commandant Charcot ) and must be able to be completely independent when disembarking in Zodiacs®, understand and respond immediately to orders given by the people in charge. Consequently, these are subject to the agreement of the Commander and the Expedition Leader depending on the sea conditions and the difficulty of disembarkation at each site visited. In all cases, children and young minors are permanently on board or on land under the full and total responsibility of their parents or accompanying persons. For all “expedition” cruises aboard Le Commandant Charcot , children are accepted from 8 years old only. Children aged 4 or over can be accommodated in the Kid's Club when the service is offered on board.

Are animals allowed on board?For safety and hygiene reasons, our animal friends are not accepted on board .

Do the electrical outlets on board meet European standards?Yes, 220 volt 50 Hertz alternating current is distributed by sockets that comply with European standards . Electricity on board is 220 Volt AC (European Standard) and 110 Volt AC (North American Standard). For safety reasons, the use of hair irons and irons is not permitted in the cabins. On board the Ponant , 110 Volt AC is only distributed in the cabin bathroom.

Do the ships have a laundry service?Yes, your Cabinier is at your disposal to provide a laundry service** . 24 to 48 hours are required for washing and ironing your clothes. Only an ironing service** can be provided during the day. As dry cleaning is not possible, please only entrust us with clothes that can be washed in water. ** These services are chargeable and invoiced directly to your cabin account

Is it possible to make purchases on board?Gift items and souvenirs can be purchased on board in our boutique . Please note that the law does not allow us to open the store for the duration of our stopovers. Items sold in stores are tax-free except on exclusively French routes and on Le Paul Gauguin where some of the items offered are not tax-free. It is also possible to book your next cruise project aboard our ships, with the Voyages Ambassador. For any cruise booked on board, you will benefit from a 5% reduction (on the cruise part only, which can be combined with your PONANT benefits).

Is telephone service available on board?To reach a correspondent around the world, a satellite communication system is available to you. The amount of communications is transferred directly to the cabin account (pricing depends on the navigation zone). Calls from your correspondents can be transferred directly to your cabin or to any common area on the ships. You can also send and receive faxes by contacting reception.

Is Internet access available on board?You have free Wi-Fi internet access on board all our ships (cabins and common areas). One or more computers are at your disposal in the leisure areas. Please note that the Wi-Fi connection may be discontinuous depending on the navigation area and the terrain which may hide the vessel from satellite coverage, particularly at high latitudes (no connection possible beyond 80° North or South), or well for technical reasons beyond our control.
